Today I entered 6 categories and got prizes in 5! Yay!!
There were some lovely flowers, vegetables, crafts, baking and floral art and the childrens section had great collections of seeds, wild flowers, herbs, mini-gardens and vegetable animals!! Chewbacca makes a winning gingerbread character…
After at least 9 years wi’ my trust fuji finepix have upgraded to 16million pixels and a 22x wide zoom… not got the hang of it all yet but here a few starters.
sunlight and beech leaves, soaring cow parsley/hemlock, fuzzy young blue tit, some o’ the gang (last count 21), happy duck in the river, wee cock sparra, scavenging dunnock and lastly a jaunty chiffchaff
So where on earth did all that time go? Happy new 2013 to one and all!
Went off up the hill this morning to take a photy of the bleak owing to the dull light and foggy conditions. Nothing too exciting to see however but found a wee bit of colour and an unexpected primrose. In fact it looks like there will be a super bank of them later on. Cheers!
Captured earlier today, a furry acrobat nabbing as much as he can from the birds fatballs. Having failed to destroy the replacement seed feeder he/she has resorted to hanging by three toes and ripping through the green plastic nets!
The replacement seed feeder is held onto the branch by a bulldog clip and two medium sized safety pins – I defy the fuzzy critters to work that out!
This is the day that is supposed to be hot. Looking out at the view first thing I saw the morning mist and decided to take myself to the Victorian water tower, before the sun really got going. Dug out my teeny radio and fixed it to the shuffle, pocketed the camera and set off with the intention of a half hour each way. As usual I got to my destination, turned round and got side tracked, disorientated and almost lost on the way back home!
Here are twelve wee pics of there and back, including some big vistas, the water tower, dry ski slope and minature railway. The big thing you are missing out on is the loud and continuous bird song. Excellent!
OK, I know I’ve been quiet for a few weeks. Nothing much happening I suppose but I was away for a few days. You may be able to work out where from the pics below? The bumble bee is probably shown a wee bit smaller than life size, he was impressive.
But now it’s back to the usual daily slippers and dressing gown, getting up at 3 in the afternoon, eating crisps and watching Murder She Wrote everyday… 😉
Can ya tell where it is yet?
As promised I have captured the fruit of the lovely cheery blossom (April). Got in before the fat pigeons scoff the lot! Usually I just see the results glued to the roof of my car…I really should park away from the birdies main perch.
Mmmm… fruit, almost. Revisited the jolly cherry trees this morning to check progress – small, hard and green by the looks of it. I will try and get back to them before the ripe red fruit is gobbled up by pidgeons.
