“replicakes” …a little web presence for little presents
A new showcase for my small model cakes, pastries and other foods.
So head on over to see the detailed photys and find out more.
paintings, promotion, stuff & nonsense
Finally… got to the end of the marathon that is MySpace – now we are all bells, whistles, guitars, bass, drums ‘n’ singing!
…OK it’s still got a bit to go but my arm is sore with linking the videos and stuff – Oh and I have a youTube channel now too, thankz guyz! sigh… go on be my(space) friend www.myspace.com/drivenorthwest and the band site is www.drivenorthwest.co.uk
Off out wi’ the camera since it was nice ‘n’ sunny this forenoon. I had intended heading for a beautiful garden (didn’t snap as it was being worked on at the time) but got distracted by these on the way. They are connected to my previous post As I Walked Out… since it is more or less the same area just shifted forward four months. Spot the differences?
My local library has just has another sale of withdrawn books, Hooray! and this time I knew about it in advance. The booty today was 9 books for a total price of… £1.60!
two to give to friends, probably: H.P. Lovecraft “The Dreams in the Witch House” and John Updike “Villages”
two Scottish writers: Christopher Brookmyre “A Big Boy Did It And Ran Away” and Quintin Jardine “Dead and Buried” (reading the Bob Skinner novels in sequence but encountered a bit of a gap)
two American writers: James Lee Burke “To the Bright and Shining Sun” and Patricia Highsmith “The Blunderer”
a funny one?: Matthew Baylis “The Last Ealing Comedy”
improvement?: Classic fm “One Hundred Favourite Poems”
artistic: Maria Constantino “Klimt”
So that’s me sorted for the next few months. More shelves probably required tho’ as the backlog is growing . Good thing I was given a wee portable reading light as a present so I can work through them even in the gloaming of 3:00 and 5:00 ish on dull afternoons.
OK, I know I’ve been quiet for a few weeks. Nothing much happening I suppose but I was away for a few days. You may be able to work out where from the pics below? The bumble bee is probably shown a wee bit smaller than life size, he was impressive.
But now it’s back to the usual daily slippers and dressing gown, getting up at 3 in the afternoon, eating crisps and watching Murder She Wrote everyday… 😉
Can ya tell where it is yet?
Finally decided to make Moo minicards using my own photys. The package arrived today and I just had to lay them all out. Showing 49 cards and missing out the one unsuccessful design I managed to take this, squint, I know. And I could’na resist stickers too. Now I know which are better long or square for the next time.
A virtual pat on the head if you guess my destination correctly. Anyway, I hope they have a lovely day and wish I was still there.
Et voila! my first attempts at… caning, slicing (with the ridged blade), using a tinfoil armature to make a bigger bead, my first “skinner blend” and making a tiny bowl with the cane slices (so fragile dainty that I have no idea what to do with it!).
