Yea!
I have just finished three years of study!! I have been undertaking the distance version of RBGE (Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh) Diploma in Botanical Illustration. The graduation and opening of our exhibition is on Tuesday the 11th September and I am so pleased to be part of it all. 🙂
I will post a photy or two here one it’s all up and running and any one who is in the capital, please nip into the Botanics and see our paintings – The Fletcher Building from 12th to 23rd September, 10.30 till 16.00
I’ve been lucky enough to have two of my recent pictures (“Horse Chestnuts” & “Four Tomatoes”) hung in another gallery, The Gallery – Melrose in the Scottish Borders.
Great art gallery, gifts and picture framing too, run by the very friendly David and Iain.
Pop in for a look round if you are passing.
🙂
At the back end of the year I submitted three paintings to a local art exhibition. Thought you might like to see them in situ. Now they are wrapped up safely till I (hopefully) get them into another gallery later this year and maybe make a sale?
These are graphite and coloured pencil works on three different kinds of paper, as much a test of the paper as of my skill rendering the subjects. Titles are:”Four Tomatoes”, “Horse Chestnuts” and “Two Plums”
(Titles are not my strong point!)
I’ve entered paintings in this annual open exhibition for the past three years and they have all been botanical subjects and they have all been round shapes. It seems there is a pattern developing!
The Castle Park Arts Centre in Frodsham, Cheshire always has something interesting coming up and I regularly take a trip to see whats hanging and visit the cafe.
